Celebrating a Legacy Through TEAM GENE

Anderson Lock has been a trusted name in locksmith services since 1960. It started with Gene Anderson, who worked alone as a locksmith in a corner of his parents’ hardware store. Over time, he grew the business into a full service locksmith company known for quality work and a culture that values people. Gene Anderson received his ALS diagnosis in 2019 and lost his battle with the disease in 2023.
TEAM GENE began as a personal way to honor Gene Anderson and his courageous battle with ALS. His family wanted to turn something painful into something meaningful. Over the years, it quickly grew into something bigger than anyone had imagined. TEAM GENE has become an important part of Anderson Lock’s culture. Organizing the mini Walk ALS events has brought employees, partners, friends, and family closer. It reflects the values Gene built into the company. Respect, loyalty, teamwork, and caring for others guide everything the team does.
Last year’s fifth annual TEAM GENE Mini Walk was especially meaningful. Seeing how much the event has grown and how many people continue to support it was moving. What began as a personal tribute has become a community tradition that grows stronger each year. TEAM GENE has also made a real impact. The team has raised more than two hundred thousand dollars to fund ALS research and help families currently facing the disease.
“TEAM GENE reflects my father’s legacy in a very real way. It brings people together to support each other and have a swell time in his honor.”
Gene Anderson’s legacy continues to inspire the team every day. His belief in people, kindness, and leadership by example created a company where relationships and teamwork matter. TEAM GENE carries that spirit forward while honoring his strength, humor, and determination in the face of ALS.
