Running With Purpose: Joe’s Journey With Team ALS
Meet Joe! He’s one of our Team ALS runners. Every mile helps raise awareness and support for individuals living with ALS. Joe proudly represented Team ALS at the Miami Marathon in honor of his mom. What began as a personal goal became something much bigger. Since his mom’s symptoms first appeared, Joe has seen firsthand how ALS reshapes everyday life. Like so many families affected by ALS, Joe’s family has leaned on one another through uncertainty and change. Support from friends, family, and the ALS community has played a critical role in navigating this journey.
“Running gives me the opportunity to turn something challenging into something meaningful,” Joe shared. “Every step is for my mom and for everyone facing ALS.”
But Miami was only the beginning. This October, Joe will lace up his running shoes again as he takes on the Chicago Marathon, continuing his commitment to the ALS community. His fundraising efforts support vital programs at ALS United Illinois, including care services, advocacy, and research aimed at ending ALS.
